Burkina Faso pip Ghana in WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship to reach finals

The Black Starlets were pipped by the Young Stallions in their quest to reach the finals of the competition.

Ghana suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Burkina Faso in the semi final stage of the ongoing U-17 WAFU Zone B championship.

After a 0-0 draw in the first half, Burkina Faso stretched an upper hand to secure a narrow win in the second half.

FC Rahimo player Osman Camara opened the scoring for his country, converting from the penalty spot.

Burkina Faso appeared to be mounting pressure on the hosts but still suffered to break through Ghana’s defense until the 64th minute goal from the Rahimo player.

Ghana will face Ivory Coast at the third and fourth place while the Burkina Faso junior side plays the U-17 side of Nigeria on Friday.
