Ivory Coast defeated Ghana 9-8 on penalties to win the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations after the two sides failed to manage a goal throughout the match.
The penalty shootout, which lasted 11 rounds, ended when Ivory Coast goalkeeper Boubacar Barry saved Razak Brimah’s kick.
The goalkeeper has revealed a secret and the bad moment of his life after breaking the hearts of Ghanaians for Ivory Coast to snatch the trophy.
The 35-year-old was on the mark in the goal post for Ghana during the tournament in Equatorial Guinea but the final result dashed Ghana’s hope of breaking the 33-years trophy drought in 2015.
Whiles speaking in an exclusive interview with Original FM on Thursday morning, Brimah has emotionally disclosed what happened to him after the tournament.
“After missing the penalty I cried for one week. I like fasting and I used to fast on every Monday and Thursday at that time but I was so sad and I fasted throughout that week.”
Brimah currently plies his trade with Linares Deportivo in Spain.
