The Medical team of Kenpong Football Academy continues to attract praises and applause from fans and football administrators at the ongoing Central Region Division 2 Middle League Competition for their show of sportsmanship.
The latest loads of commendation keep pouring in after two members of the Kenpong Medical team, Isaac Yaw Tanor and Frederick Kalle rushed to save a player and Captain of Winneba United Emmanuel Paintsil who suffered a cut around the eye and seemed dazed, walking awkwardly on the field. The Central defender had given his best to his team until he suffered a cut while trying to head a ball away after bumping into a colleague.
With fans and even the referee shouting and gesturing for help, the Kenpong Medical guys with their gloves on and already poised for a rescue mission rushed to the player, made him lie down, and treated him with professional expertise.
His head was bandaged by Isaac Tanor and Frederick Kalle after treatment for some minutes before the player recovered and was made to continue with play. The Winneba United skipper Emmanuel Paintsil was very grateful to the Kenpong Medical team during and after the match, and even with a bandaged head was seen being thankful to them for saving his life. Winneba United lost the match by a lone goal through enterprising youngster Ziaba Moro.
This is not the first time the Kenpong Medical team is being praised for this show of sportsmanship and sense of urgency to treat opponents and fans alike when they are in danger. They have been going to the aid of other teams during the league and even allowing opponents to use their equipment in times of need.
