The Communications Director of Real Tamale United, Sey Mubarak has rubbished Albert Commey’s match match-fixing allegations.
The football administrator, Commey, who is the Deputy Chief Executive of Ashanti Gold SC, was accused of several matches, including the clash between Hearts of Oak and Real Tamale United.
He boldly pointed out some games like Eleven Wonders vs Aduana, King Faisal vs Legon Cities, and his AshantiGold vs Bibiani GoldStars, in which Yaw Annor scored two goals to win the golden boot.
Hearts of Oak on the last day of the GPL 2021/22 season suffered a shocking 4-1 defeat at home to the Tamale-based club to escape relegation.
In an interview with Space FM, Mr. Commey claimed that most of the games were fixed and conveniently played to ensure some teams escaped relegation.
However, a few hours after the comment, the disciplinary committee of the Ghana Football Association has invited the deputy general manager of the AshantiGold SC, to assist with investigations.
In a response to his allegations, the Communications Director of the Tamale-based club has expressed disappointment in his countryman, who was one of the pillars during the campaign to revamp Ghana Football following the Anas Expose in 2018.
He also dares the well-known football administrator to bring up a fact whiles speaking in an interview with Ghanasportspage.com.
“Is very unfortunate for a leader we are all learning from him to push our journey of developing Ghana Football to do this.
“For somebody also who took very active part in the campaign to revamp Ghana Football and the Anas Exposè to come out to make this comment is very dispeakable.
“I think that Mr. Albert Commey, honestly speaking is somebody I respect but for his comment today I am very disappointed in him. I do not know his evidence before saying RTU and Hearts game was a fixed match because those who watched the game on television, at the stadium will testify that Hearts of Oak did all their best. Is just unfortunate that RTU prepared very well to win that game. Maybe he is saying it because of the scoreline or the victory for RTU but in fact, this wasn’t the first time Hearts of Oak lost to RTU at the Accra Sports Stadium. In 2011 Yahaya Sumaila’s solid three goals gave RTU the three maximum points.
“We defeated Kotoko and the only club to take four points from them is RTU. Why not that one and our 4-0 win against Ashantigold in Obuasi? Because he was in charge of the club. It is very disappointing for someone who campaigned for the betterment of Ghana football after the Anas Exposè to come out to make this kind of comment. I do not know where he got his information. The fact is he should prove or bring evidence so that we can all see what happened.”
