Former Asante Kotoko captain, Amos Frimpong has opened up on his future plans for the upcoming season. His contract with CI Kamsar expired at the end of the 2021/22 season.
The penalty expert, Amos is confident he will renew his contract with the Guinean side despite interests from other clubs.
He quickly progressed into the team following a successful season with Eleven Wonders, first impressing in the pre-season, and playing in their 2-0 defeat to Hearts of Oak in the 2021/22 CAF Champions League preliminary stage.
The 30-year-old defender signed a year deal with the Guinean side and he is optimistic about extending his stay in Ligue 1.
“It is true. My contract with CI Kamsar expired at the end of the 2021/22 season and talks are ongoing. I will likely renew my contract with the club but I am negotiating with other teams too so If things don’t go successfully I hope I will nowhere to continue my journey if the league starts next season.
“So far I haven’t spoken with any GPL side,” Amos revealed via an interview with Ghanasportspage.com.
He previously played for Guinean giant Khaloum Stars after leaving Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC two years ago and will have a second spell in the Guinea top flight.
In the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League campaign, Frimpong played 16 times for the Techiman based club and was on target for the club once as well as winning one Most Valuable Player award.
Frimpong helped Eleven Wonders to escape relegation and maintained their Premier League status for another season.
