Former Kotoko and Hearts coach Ernst Middendorp arrived in Ghana yesterday and has been spotted today in Accra and Winneba.
The German trainer was seen in the company of former Kotoko officials and is believed to be in Ghana for a special job.
Middendorp is highly regarded in Ghana after then Kotoko boss Herbert Mensah brought him to coach the Fabulous Club, as he helped produce great talents for the club and Ghana. He later moved to Hearts and also made great strides which endeared him to the supporters of the clubs before he moved to South Africa. It will be known soon if he’s replacing any coach as the season ended with several clubs being disappointed by their coaches.
The 63-year-old German tactician parted ways with South African side Maritzburg United last month.
He led them to a 13th place finish in the 2020/21 season before following that up with a 12th place finish last term. Maritzburg performed fairly modestly last season instead of losing former star attacker Bongokuhle Hlongwane to Major League Soccer (MLS) club Minnesota United midway through the campaign.
Ghanasportspage.com can exclusively confirm that the 63-year-old German tactician is currently with Kenpong Football Academy in Winneba, according to our close source, he met the players, and technical team today, 1st July 2022.
