First choice goalkeeper of Accra Hearts of Oak, Richard Attah has named his team-mate, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh as the top player of the Ghana Premier League 2021/22 season.
The 21-year-old attacker all season has been a livewire for the Phobians while scoring some important goals despite their poor run in the just ended Ghana Premier League.
Barnieh scored the winning goal in the finals of the MTN FA Cup this season as Hearts of Oak defeated Bechem United to defend the title at the Baba Yara Stadium over the weekend.
Elsewhere, he also scored in the President’s Cup fixture against Asante Kotoko in their 2-1 win in Accra for Hearts to lift the title.
Following Barnieh’s exploit in his career, the Black Stars AFCON 2021 member, Richard Attah believes the youngster is the top player of the season and should be maintained in the team.
In an interview with Angel Tv, the top goalkeeper said, “Afriyie Barnieh is the top player in the Ghana Premier League. He is the most important player at Hearts of Oak now and to me, he is worth GHC15,000 monthly.
“I think with his level, that’s the least he should be paid. We need to retain him at the club,” he stated.
