The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has published the final shortlist for this year’s edition of the CAF Awards to be held in Morocco later this month.
As stated earlier, the Black Stars youngster was the only Ghanaian to have been named in the initial nominees’ list last month, getting a nomination in the Young Player of the Year award.
The Stade Rennes forward made the final shortlist released by CAF on Monday, July 11.
Kamaldeen joins Dango Ouattara (Burkina Faso & Lorient), Karim Konate (Cote d’Ivoire & ASEC/RB Salzburg),Pape Matar Sarr (Senegal & Metz) and Hannibal Mejbri (Tunisia & Manchester United).
For the 2022 Player of the Year award, Mohamed Salah (Egypt & Liverpool) will be competing with Riyad Mahrez (Algeria & Manchester City), Karl Toko Ekambi (Cameroon & Olympique Lyonnais), Vincent Aboubacar (Cameroon & Al Nassr), Sebastien Haller (Cote d’Ivoire & Ajax), Naby Keita (Guinea & Liverpool), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco & Paris Saint-Germain), Edouard Mendy (Senegal & Chelsea), Kalidou Koulibaly (Senegal & Napoli) and Sadio Mane (Senegal & Bayern Munich).
