The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association has officially released a verdict on demotion of GPL side, Ashantigold SC and Division One League side, Inter Allies.
Ashantigold SC and Inter Allies will no more participate in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League and the Division One League after being found Guilty of Match Manipulation in their 2020/21 Ghana Premier League Matchday 34 game against Inter Allies FC.
The two clubs have lost the statement of appeal they filed against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Appeals Committee sanctions imposed by the Disciplinary Committee (DC) on grounds of match manipulation.
The GFA’s DC on May 16, 2022 announced its verdict on charges against players and officials of Ashanti Gold for match fixing of a league match against Inter Allies in July 2021 during the 2020/2021 season.
Officials of the Club and Players who participated in the above-mentioned match have also been sanctioned by the Disciplinary Committee.
As confirmed on our platform, the Ghana FA has set Thursday, August 18 for the next ordinary congress of the body ahead of the start of the next football season.
The congress will approve the demotion and promotion of clubs in the Ghana Premier League (GPL), the National Division One League (DOL), and the Women’s Premier League. Where the congress will officially going to approve Inter Allies and Ashanti Gold demotion to Division two.
