The former Asante Kotoko and Bechem United player made a summer move to the Tanzania League having a penned two-year deal with the Reds of Msimbazi.
Okrah got off to a dream start at Simba SC having found the net in the Tanzania giants’ 1 – 1 draw in a pre-season friendly against Ismaili from Egypt.
The club’s preparations took a step up on Sunday with a friendly against the Egyptian top-flight side – the clash ending in a 1-1 draw.
It did not take very long at all for Augustine Okrah to get himself on the scoresheet for the first time for Simba as he chopped in a perfect goal.
The Ghanaian international will certainly hope that the goals continue flowing for him throughout pre-season and beyond as he attempts to shine in his new club.
In the 2021/22 GPL season, he netted 14 goals in 32 matches in the Ghana Premier League with Bechem finishing at the 3rd position, the club’s best position in the Ghanaian top-flight.
Reacting to his debut goal for Simba SC, the 28-year-old winger said; “Actually, first of all I will like to thank the coach for giving me this opportunity to play and am very grateful to score my first goal for Simba SC. This is my first game. I think I need to improve more and score more more for my fans.
“It was a good test for us to know our level of this preparation so we are hoping to do more. It wasn’t bad. It was a good test so we are just hoping to give our best.
Should we expect more goals from Okrah? “Of course, like I always do.”
