• Asante Kotoko are the champions of the 2021/22 GPL
Ghanaian trainer Francis Totti Laryea has revealed how he predicted Asante Kotoko to win the just ended GPL title.
The CEO of Train Like A Pro Ghana attributed the Porcupine Warriors 2021/22 GPL glory to their off-season works outside the country.
However, he earlier predicted before the season that the Porcupines will claim the title following their Dubai tour.
Prior to the commencement of the season, the Reds left the shores of Ghana to Dubai, where they played a number of friendly games to get in shape.
It was amazing that the team never disappointed their fans. They ruled over other clubs with 67 points to lift the title.
Francis Totti Laryea told Homebase Tv in an interview that with his technical eye and experience as a trainer, he predicted the Porcupine Warriors to win the league before the season.
Totti further advised the clubs to have a good pre-season. He also cautioned the players to get their personal trainer on and off the season.
“I went to some tv station last season and I said Kumasi Asante Kotoko had a good pre-season and they will win the league. It happened. In Ghana many people doesn’t understand the work of a personal trainer or as a trainer. Every team should have a good preseason and in the off-season the players shouldn’t think that there is a break so they won’t train. They have to get a physical trainer for a good preseason,” he disclosed.
After the league, Medeama SC occupied the second position, while shockingly Hearts of Oak finished sixth with just 48 points.
Bechem United and Karela United completed the top four.
