Coach Annor Walker has opened up on preparations at the camp of the Black Galaxies ahead of their CHAN qualifier against Benin.
Ghana will play host to the domestic national team of Benin tomorrow at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in the first leg of the African Nations Championship preliminary stage.
The team commenced preparations at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence – Prampram weeks ago before moving to Cape Coast.
Black Galaxies, mostly built around star players of the just ended Ghana Premier League, have been in fine form since opening camp six weeks ago.
They have been playing warm-up games against lower division sides for tomorrow’s clash.
Annor Walker, who is hoping to help the national team to qualify after failing to play at the last three editions of the tournament has discussed about the preparations of the team, saying things have been good since day one the players were called for camping.
Speaking at his side’s press conference ahead of the encounter with the West African rivals, Annor Walker divulged, “Preparations have been very good since I was told to invite players to get them ready for our match against Benin about six, seven weeks ago so I assembled the players at camp in Prampram.
“We trained every week from Monday to Thursday before they will go back into their clubs when the league was ongoing.
“We had to be stable after the league. We trained to get ourselves well prepared before coming to Cape Coast to finalize everything.
“Preparations have been very good,” he ended.
Ghana has been eliminated from the qualifiers by Burkina Faso in the last two editions.
The winner from the upcoming double header will face Nigeria in the final round of the qualifications to fight a place at the competition.
