The bankroller for King Faisal, Alhaji Abdul Karim Grusah has fired back at Kumasi Asante Kotoko management for putting their patron Otumfour Osei Tutu’s image in their 2022/23 kits.
The Porcupine Warriors unveiled their home and away kits on Tuesday for the upcoming season designed by Errea.
The home kit is traditional red, while the away kit is green.
Both jerseys contains the image of their patron with the theme “Celebrating the pillar of peace: His Royal Majesty Otumfour Osei Tutu.”
The outspoken football administrator has questioned the management of the current GPL champions for putting the image of their patron in front of the kits, claiming it’s uncivilized whiles speaking in an interview with Kessben Tv.
Alhaji Grusah, however, tasked the Porcupines to go back and make an immediate correction to remove the image.
“It’s uncivilized to have put Otumfuo in the Kotoko Jersey. In fact, it’s a village thing. Otumfuo is more than that. Otumfuo does not go to war and lose. Maybe these Ashantis don’t know how Otumfuo is valued. Who does not know Otumfuo is the owner of the club? Which team does this in the world? We put sponsors on Jerseys. This is not maturity, they’ve already done it but they can go back and change,” says Alhaji Grusah.
