The Miss GSP1 crown is heading to the Eastern Region, after its representative in this year’s edition, Marcia, was crowned the winner of the contest on Friday 29th July 2022.
After three weeks of hard work, creativity and keen contest in the areas of the operations of Ghana Sports Page 1 (GSP1 Media), knowledge of the contestants on foreign sports (mainly Europe and Asia), knowledge about local football (Ghana), picture identification and freestyle on Football Live Commentary, Marcia Floriben won this year’s contest after beating off competition from Miils Mateko, also from the Eastern Region and Greater Accra’s sole representative, Alfredina, popularly known as Dizus.
Having eased her way through after thorough tests in the various rounds of the contest on sports, Marcia beat competition from two others to win the ultimate prize and the crown. Miils Mateko, popularly known as Melanin came second while Greater Accra representative Alfredina (Dizus) came third.
The event which was held virtually via zoom video conference and on other social media platforms, commenced on Friday, July 1, 2022 and ended on Friday, July 29, 2022. The contest was in two sessions; Q&A Session (10%) and compilation of number of views, likes and traffic on performed videos by the contestants of a given task uploaded on YouTube (30%), Wechat (50%) and Others (10%), making 100% of the overall points scored by each contestant.
Interestingly, the Questions and Answers (Q&A) session was a neck tie contest between Marcia and Melanin as only 2 points separated the two at the end of the session. Melanin emerged winner of the Q&A session, scoring 55 points ahead of the eventual overall winner, Marcia, who scored 53 points while Dizus managed with 10 points.
All three contestants, Marcia, Melanin and Dizus are Ghanaian citizens based in China, the Headquarters of GSP1 Media. Due to the nature of the covid-19 situation in the country, the Miss GSP1 2022, which is the second edition was held virtually.
Marcia Floriben, representing the Eastern Region, has been crowned the winner of the Miss GSP1 2022 contest. She was pronounced winner of the contest during the final session held via Zoom Video Conference in China on the GSP1 Wechat platform on Friday, July 29, 2022.
Overall breakdown of points won by the contestants shows Marcia gained 21.62 points on Wechat, 23.47 points on YouTube, 4.49 points from the Q&A and 4.21 from others, representing 53.80. Melanin grabbed 26.68 points from Wechat, 6.50 from YouTube, 4.66 from Q&A and 4.63 from Others, making a total of 42.48, while Dizus managed 1.68 from Wechat, 0.02 from YouTube, 0.84 from Q&A and 1.15 from others, also representing a total of 3.70.
Marcia, the winner of the contest walks home with a brand new Sumsung Galazy Tab 2 and Sandwich Maker appliance from Winning Star as her Prize, while Melanin, the 1st Runner Up takes home a brand new 3 in 1 Multifunction Breakfast Maker (Microwave) as well as a Citrus Juicer (blender) from Winning Star. The 2nd Runner Up, Dizus also takes home a German made Extra large capacity Air Fryer (Silver Crest).
