According to Accra-based Angel FM, talented attacker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh could join a Norwegian club if he turns down contract extension talks with the Phobians.
News available to us indicates that Viking FK is the 21-year-old Black Galaxies’ forward likely destination in the 2023 January transfer window.
We can exclusively confirm that Barnieh is likely to move to the Norwegian side on a free transfer whiles the report has disclosed that he has already signed pre-Contract with Viking FK.
Barnieh led the Black Satellites to win the U-20 AFCON, beating Uganda in the final before helping Hearts of to win both the GPL title and the FA Cup title after the 2020/21 season.
Barnieh also played a pivotal role in the Rainbows last season’s President’s Cup and FA Cup glory, scoring in both games to secure the Phobians a spot in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Hearts of Oak still remains favourite to win the biggest prize of all in Ghana Football in the upcoming season as they also prepare for the CAF Confederations Cup.
Barnieh joined Hearts of Oak in 2020 after it became clear that Asante Kotoko couldn’t grant him the opportunity during trials with the club.
He is expected to extend his contract with the reigning Ghana Premier League champions until the summer of 2026 as his current contract is set to expire in January 2023 but the talented player has been linked to join the Norwegian side.
