Head coach of the Black Galaxies, Annor Walker has made an awkward reaction to his critics concerning player selection during preparations and friendlies towards the game against Benin.
Early Thursday morning on Accra-based Original FM with Annor Walker, having completed a successful job against the Junior Squirrels, he explained why he rotated his team and why some of his trusted players were benched during the friendlies.
There are some players who-in most every circumstance-are undroppable: No matter the game they will likely take the pitch but they were unused in the friendlies.
Despite critics, there was an enjoyable 4-1 aggregate scoreline against their West African rivals but the gaffer still felt during the interview to clear the air about his friendly selections.
“I called 35 players. We all trained and for games, 22 players including goalkeepers are allowed. You will get roughly about 15 to play.
“When you play a friendly match with a different squad it will change when you go in for another friendly.
“You as the coach will regulate the team how you want and the players you feel will sweet your formation.
“Within me, I knew what I was doing in our preparations and the friendlies. I was building the team in my mind and on paper I am building my team. I didn’t want to talk during the time they were criticizing me about my first eleven.” Annor Walker revealed.
Coach Annor Walker is aiming to ally work rate with pizzazz, establishing an industrious flamboyance team to face Nigeria in the upcoming encounter against Nigeria in the last round of the qualifiers between August 26 and 28, 2022.
