Former FC Basel defender Samuel Inkoom has agreed to continue his stay at Accra Hearts of Oak until 2023.
The 33-year-old Ghanaian international, has had great form after a return into the local league and he has accepted to stay with the Phobians until 2023 but his Jersey number 52 has been changed to 22.
Accra Hearts Of Oak has registered Samuel Inkoom for Ghana Premier League and CAF Confederation Campain with Jersey number 22, Ghanasportspage.com can confirm.
The 33-year-old experienced defender had intended to play for his former team Kumasi Asante Kotoko but he was unable to reach a deal with Porcupine Warriors. He was part of the Kotoko side that won the Ghana Premier League in 2008, before joining Swiss giants Basel.
Inkoom’s return has already created a legacy in the league, helping the Rainbows to win the President’s Cup and the MTN FA. Hearts of oak awaits the winner of AS Douanes and Bamako game in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Douanes will face Bamako in a two-leg encounter in September before the winner takes on the Ghanaian giants in the next stage.
The second preliminary round of the Confederation Cup is slated for October 2022. This will be Samuel Inkoom’s maiden edition of enjoying the CAF Confederation Cup with Accra Hearts of Oak.
