The reigning champions of the Ghana Premier League, Kumasi Asante Kotoko have reportedly completed the signing of Karela United midfield enforcer, Umar Bashiru.
The 25-year-old is making a return to the Porcupine Warriors after failing to shine during the 2018/19 season.
He was announced as surplus to requirements by the club after just one season and his three-year deal was terminated.
The former WAFA midfielder moved to Karela United as a free agent ahead of the 2020/21 season after terminating his contract with Asante Kotoko before the commencement of the 2019/20 season.
He successfully appeared as a shining midfielder for the Anyinase-based club in the last two seasons.
Bashiru was involved in 17 goals during the 2021/22 league season after scoring 13 goals and providing 4 assists.
Contract terms with the GPL holders are yet to be announced.
The Porcupine Warriors are beefing up their squad for the Ghana Premier League and the CAF Champions League next season.
Asante Kotoko have already signed two goalkeepers Fredrick Asare from Accra Lions, Moise Pouaty from Cameroon and Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala.
Umar Bashiru is with the Black Galaxies preparing for the CHAN qualifiers against Nigeria later this month. He provided two assists in the two-legged clash against Benin.
