Newly-promoted GPL side, FC Samartex are set to complete the signing of Accra Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Richard Baidoo.
We can exclusively confirm that the 24-year-old goalkeeper has agreed to sign two to three-year deal in the coming days for his former club.
Badu came through the Phobians junior side after gaining experience from the Second Division League. However, he has struggled to get a starting berth after suffering a 4-0 defeat to JS Saoura in the second leg of the CAF Confederations Cup qualifier game last season.
He has undergone several loan spells, including spending time at Karela United and FC Samartex.
It was Karela United that he established himself and became regular in the Ghanaian top-flight.
He returned to the Rainbows after the 2020/21 season and was initially tipped to give tough competition to the club’s first and second choice goalkeepers Richard Attah and Richmond Ayi but that never happened and the goalkeeper has opted for a move.
He is expected to sign the deal with his former club, Samartex before the end of the week.
