Great Olympics suffered second defeat in the ongoing GHALCA G6 competition to Karela United at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The ‘Dade Boys’ lost by a 6-5 scoreline in a penalty shootout after playing out a 0-0 draw at the end of the 90 minutes.
The penalty is said to be used to find the winner per the rules of the organizers when the match ends up in a stalemate without playing an extra time.
Upon all the chances, the Accra-based club failed to claim their first win in the tournament, having defeated by Bechem United in their first game.
They were denied several times by the Karela United goalkeeper Felix Kyei.
However, in the second half, Great Olympics player Rodney Appiah went down with a knee injury which affected them.
The son of ex-Black Stars skipper Stephen Appiah was replaced by former Udinese midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu.
After the entire duration of the match had ended in a 0-0 draw, the Anyinase-based rallied for the maximum points with a 6-5 scoreline.
Olympics are out of the competition after two defeats whiles Karela takes on Medeama SC in their second fixture on Wednesday at the same venue.
