Ghanaian defender, Abdul Ganiu Ishmael has mutually terminated his contract with GPL giants, Kumasi Asante Kotoko ahead of the new season.
Reports claims there has been a misunderstanding between the player and the management.
This has led to the contract termination after the player himself requested for release.
The 26-year-old defender who has played no part of the club’s pre-season is now a free agent and can join any club of his choice before the transfer window is closed.
He joined the club in 2018 from Karela United and he was named as the captain following the departure of Emmanuel Gyamfi and Felix Annan.
The Porcupine Warriors are keen on making impact in the upcoming campaign after lifting the GPL title last season.
