Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak Samuel Boadu has revealed why the Rainbow presented their junior side, Auroras against Medeama SC in their GHALCA G6 first clash.
Samuel Boadu explained that the timing of the tournament made him alter the Phobians team against Medeama.
As revealed in an interview, the Rainbow coach said he needed to switch his side’s makeup in the GHALCA opener to cope with the GPL side to deal with some injuries in the senior team.
“What I have to tell the fans is that they shouldn’t be disappointed for not seeing us presenting the main team. The timing was not good for us to play that match that’s why we used the Auroras. With the appropriate time, they will see the team in a good shape and I believe with their support and prayers they will be happy.
“We are on the endurance and condition side of our pre-season. The ball working started two days before the game and it will affect us.
“We also have some injuries to deal with that’s why. I do respect them even playing with the junior side because you will learn and get some players to develop. I respect every competition that I will play,” Samuel Boadu disclosed.
FA Cup champions Hearts of Oak suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat in their first match of the ongoing pre-season competition, GHALCA G6, on Sunday.
They will face Berekum Chelsea in their second encounter today at the Accra Sports Stadium.
