The Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak’s board member, Vincent Odotei Sowah has has angrily reacted to the ongoing misunderstanding between the club and Joe Abu Salam, the agent of Konadu Yiadom.
The defender’s agent has disclosed that Hearts of Oak have failed to honor their part of agreement in the transfer deal for Konadu Yiadom and the player will not be in the colours of the MTN FA Cup winners in the upcoming season.
He also stated in an interview on Accra-based Asempa FM that he regrets not accepting the offer from the reigning champions of the GPL, Asante Kotoko.
“I regret not given Konadu to Kotoko. Everything shows I mad a mistake. I really regret and should have taken the money from Kotoko.Nana Yaw even told me Hearts have no money to pay the boy.”
After Abu Salam had made this disclosure, Hearts of Oak Board member Vincent Odotei Sowah appeared on the same platform and reacted to the claims made by the agent.
“We are responsible club. We play by the rules and we expect people like Abu when they are transacting business with Hearts of Oak they should not be driven by greed and irresponsibility. If tell you the outside of the story since last year August when he brought Konadu to Hearts, January when we attempted to register in this thing if I have to say it am sure it will surprise you. We’ve been vere patient because we’ve done a lot business with Abu.
“Since last year August we imported about four or five players from Abu. Ask whether we owe him.”
“We are responsible club, we take care of our players, we honor our commitment”.
Konadu was integral part of the GPL relegated side, WAFA since 2018.
He has been one of the outstanding defenders in the local league in the last two seasons and his performance earned him a role in Annor Walker’s Black Galaxies for the CHAN qualifiers.
The team is currently in Austria but will return to Ghana on Thursday to prepare for Sunday’s encounter against Nigeria at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
