GPL giants, Asante Kotoko suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of a rampant Al Hilal in their second club friendly encounter.
Having lost in the first leg leg 2-0 on Tuesday, the Porcupines followed its defeat to lose 5-0 in the second encouter.
The Sudanese side started the game on a high spirit and missed an early chance on the second minute, whipped in a cross from the left, evaded in Kotoko’s defence but goalkeeper Asare made a double save to deny them a goal.
However, a bright start from Augustine Agyapong gave the Reds their first free kick which was dispossessed by Taylor.
On the 9th minute, Amakona powered a shot and the goalkeeper failed to handle and pushed it for a corner. It was rolled out quickly to Afoakwa who was fouled in the box but the referee ignored the shouts for a penalty.
Al Hilal came back into the game with a chance on the 16th minute following miscommunication at the back of the Porcupines but their execution was wide off the posts.
The Sudanese giants with their dominance took the lead after the 23rd munite.
They managed to finish the first fourty-five with a two goal lead through a 44th minute goal.
Elsewhere, Kotoko’s shot-stopper, Frederick Asare looked to have hurt himself in an effort to save a free kick and called to be substituted on the 45th minute.
Back from the recess, the game was called to stop for a while after a black out at the venue.
Hilal resumed with an outstanding performance and got their third goal on the 55th minute.
Kotoko’s poor run in the game saw them bitterly beating with two goals on the 62nd and the 88th minute as they failed woefully to the Sudanese by a 5-0 scoreline. Glody Lilepo Makabi scored twice with the other goals coming from Abduljaleel Ajagun,Mwafag Siddig and Mubarak Abdullah.
Kotoko also will play Simba SC and one other opponent to wrap up their preparations for the upcoming season’s campaign.
