Eric ten Hag and his boys stunned league leaders, Arsenal to make it four wins in a row in a week six fixture of the English Premier League.
The Reds eased past the Gunners at the Old Trafford with an amazing 3-1 victory.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal dominated the ball for much of the game, and played well in phases, but there was a serious lack of killer instinct. United took their chances well, and defended well in their low block. A huge result for Ten Hag’s side, which is now just three points off the top.
While United started better, Arsenal created more and the patterns of play that would have favourerd them in the first half.
United sealed the lead on the 35th minute with a huge goal from the Brazilian, Antony on his debut. He latched on to a Rashford pass and tucked in at Ramsdale’s far post.
In the second half, Xhaka preys on Varane’s mistake, Odegaard slipped in Jesus with a great through ball, and Saka got the rebound into the net to level the game.
The well prepared United players bounced back to retake the lead before the 70th minute.
Exquisite through ball from Fernandes, who picked up a loose ball from Sambi, in to Rashford whose pace was too much for Arsenal’s defence, and tucked it past Ramsdale.
The Red Devils kept on piling the pressure on Arsenal after they took the lead back. A super sub Ronaldo leapt for a header and he nearly doubled the lead.
Arsenal failed to extend their winning run as Eriksen gave a sweet pass to Rashford to United’s lead.
It was a disappointing defeat but ultimately lessons to learn for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal who stays on top of the league table with 15 points.
Manchester United are just three points away from the top spot.
