Asante Kotoko poster boy, Frank Etouga Mbella has finally spoken about his match fitness rumor ahead of the game against Rail Club du Kadiogo.
It has been confirmed that the Cameronian international is not part of the Porcupines squad for the game against the Burkinabé side.
Ghanasportspage.com can exclusively and boldly confirm that the last season’s GPL second top scorer is not completely cured ahead of the clash and he will not be featured in the game.
The Cameroonian striker who missed the club’s pre-season in Sudan was supposed to pass a late fitness test before he could feature in the first leg against Kadiogo on Sunday, but he has confirmed in a chat with Ghanasportspage.com that he is out for the CAF Champions League preliminary round opener.
Quizzed about the rumor, ‘Did you go with the team?’ he answered, “No.”
Are you still not fit? “Yes. Am still not completely cured,” Mbella confirmed to Ghanasportspage.com via WhatsApp
He further revealed he is on his way to Kumasi for the return leg.
Kotoko, who is the Ghana Premier League Champions, will host the second leg in Kumasi at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 16/18 2022.
The winner of the tie will face either Gaborone of Bostwana or the Congolese side, AS Vita Club.
Meanwhile, Kotoko’s GPL opener against Nsoatremang has been postponed.
