The final 25-man squad of Samuel Boadu’s Hearts of Oak has been released ahead of the titanic and crucial clash against Aduana Stars.

The return of the Ghana Premier League will see the Rainbows opening the season against the Ogya Boys at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa with their newly-branded kit on Sunday.

Having struggled to beat their opponent last season, the Phobians will be hoping to come under the sunshine for the first maximum points of the season.

The team is made up of three goalkeepers, Richard Attah, Eric Ofori Antwi and Richmond Ayi.

In the final squad, Black Galaxies’ players, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Gladson Awako, Dennis Korsah, Mohammed Alhassan, and Seidu Suraj has returned after the historic CHAN qualification victory over Benin and Nigeria last weekend while ex-WAFA lanky defender, Konadu Yiadom is also expected to make his debut with the 2020/21 champions.

Former U-20 World Cup winner and Black Stars player, Samuel Inkoom will have the taste of the GPL opener having joined the team earlier this year in the middle of the 2021/22 campaign.

However, they will go in without the services of Sulley Muntari following his departure after winning the President’s Cup and the FA Cup with GPL giants.

Also, making the squad are new signings Zakari Yakubu, Eric Esso, Junior Kaaba, and Yassan Ouatching.

Meanwhile, Salifu Ibrahim, Mamane Lawali, Linda Mtange and William Opoku will miss the Rainbows GPL opener.

Hearts of Oak will take on Great Olympics on week 2 before taking on their bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko in the Ashanti Region in the Super Clash of the local top-flight league.

The GPL giants will also take part in the CAF Confederations Cup and the MTN FA Cup competition.
