Hearts of Oak talisman, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has been invited by the head coach of the Ghana Black Stars, Otto Addo for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Ghanasportspage.com can exclusively confirm.
Already, the Phobian has been named in Ghana’s U23 squad for AFCON qualification and is the only local player in Black Stars’ squad for the upcoming friendly games against Brazil and Nicaragua ahead of the Mundial.
The former U-20 AFCON winner has been in blistering form both club and country, making headlines in every game.
He played a key role in Hearts of Oak’s GPL glory in the 2020/21 season after helping Ghana to win the U-20 WAFU B and the U-20 AFCON.
Barnieh also inspired the Black Galaxies to seal qualification for next year’s Chan tournament over Nigeria for the first time since 2014.
He scored three goals for the team, against Benin in Cape Coast, Cotonou and against Nigeria.
Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, following the sensational display, has received a massive endorsement to be included in Ghana’s final contingent for the World Cup.
Although, the squad for the tournament has not been released by the technical team of the Black Stars the news in hand from a direct source of the national team has confirmed to the leading sports page in Ghana, Ghanasportspage.com, that the youngster has been named in the provisional squad ahead of the tournament.
Ghana will play Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea in the World Cup which begins in November.
