• Kumasi Asante Kotoko opened their CAF Champions League with a goal win over Burkinabé side RC Kadiogo in the preliminary round first leg.
• The second leg clash will be played this weekend at the Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium.
Former Porcupines captain, Amos Frimpong has rated the performance of the current Kotoko squad after their game against Rail Club du Kadiogo.
Despite the team’s abysmal performance during the preseason, Amos Frimpong insist there has been an improvement per the game they played on Monday in the CAF inter-club competition.
The reds played four international friendly matches, facing Al Hilal twice and lost both matches 2-0 and 5-0 after which they played Tanzanian giants Simba SC who defeated them 4-2.
They wrapped up preparations with Al Ahli Khartoum whom they drew 1-1 in their last game of the pre-season training tour in Sudan.

After the game, their former captain Amos Frimpong was impressed and has rated the team’s performance seven out of ten percent.
“Based on the pre-season games I watched against Al Hilal, Simba SC and checking the game they played on Monday, out of ten I can give them seven because I’ve seen an improved performance compared to both Simba and Hilal game.
“There was an improvement in their game against Kadiogo despite the number of goals they conceded during the friendlies. Kotoko did well,” Amos told Ghanasportspage.com
