The BetPawa Premier League 2022/23 season entered week two this weekend with Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics playing a 1 – 1 draw against Great Olympics in Accra.

FRIDAY – 16 SEPTEMBER, 2022

NSOATREMAN FC 1 – 0 BIBIANI GOLD STATS

The newly-promoted side kicked their campaign with a narrow win against Bibiani Gold Stars.

At the 𝐍𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐊𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐡 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤, Nsotreman FC hosted Bibiani Gold Stars in a game serving as a matchday 2 opener of the league campaign.

The home team managed to play some fine football and dominated in the first half. Unfortunately, the team could not find the back of the net.

Thankfully, the efforts of Nsoatreman FC paid off after the break. Last season’s top scorer Samuel Ofori converted a penalty kick in the 71st minute to shoot the hosts into a lead over the visitors to claim the maximum points.

SATURDAY – SEPTEMBER 18, 2022

ACCRA LIONS 2 – 1 KARELA UNITED

DREAMS FC 1 – 0 KOTOKU ROYALS

Week 2 continued on an exciting note in Dewu and Accra, as Dreams stepped up with their second victory of the season while Accra Lions also fought for their first win of the season against Karela United.

Ali Fawzi’s goal separated Dreams and Kotoku Royals at the Theatre Of Dreams, Dewu.

Elsewhere, the Lions also came up with a 2-1 victory against Karela United at the Accra Sports Stadium. Samuel Gyimah and Daniel Awuni grabbed the victory for the hosts with Enock Abglenyo scoring the consolation for the visitors.

SUNDAY – SEPTEMBER 18, 2022

HEARTS OF OAK 1 – 1 GREAT OLYMPICS

MEDEAMA SC 3 – 2 RTU

TAMALE CITY FC 0 – 1 LEGON CITIES

On Sunday, eight goals were recorded from three different venues.

The Ga Mantse Derby between Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium produced two goals after a 1-1 draw.

Olympics took an early lead on the 8th minute with Abdul Razak’s goal but they failed to hold on to their lead following Konadu Yiadom’s late minutes strike.

In Tarkwa, Medeama SC fought for their second consecutive win of the just started season over Real Tamale United.

Three goals from Kwasi Donsu helped them to secure the win whiles Issah Kuka also scored brace for the Northern giants.

However, Tamale City also tasted their second consecutive defeat in their maiden season of the league.

They lost to Legon Cities at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium by a goal to nil.

Ahmed Ragman’s 77th minute Strik was the only goal that gave the visitors the vital win.

MONDAY – SEPTEMBER 19, 2022

Actions for match day two will be wrapped up on Monday with two games.

King Faisal, who lost their first game to Berekum Chelsea will welcome Aduana Stars to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The newbies, Samartex will also host Bechem United at the Akoon Park.

After two matches, Medeama SC are on top of the league with 6 points.

Defending champions, Asante Kotoko are yet to play a game due to their engagements in CAF inter-club competitions.

They will battle Hearts of Oak on week three at the Kumasi Baba Yara Stadium.
