Samuel Inkoom will not be involved in Hearts of Oak’s next three fixtures in the BetPawa Premier League, against Bibiani Gold Stars, Kotoku Royals and Karela United at home.
The right-back has been allowed to have three weeks break to regain his form.
The 33-year-old who joined the Phobian Club last season is yet to show last campaign’s performance this term.
He played in their first two games when they suffered an opening defeat to Aduana Stars and a 1-1 draw against city rivals, Great Olympics in Accra.
He was on the bench on Sunday against Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, and the team has now decided to let him rest for three weeks, with Inkoom now not due to play until the CAF Confederations Cup first leg in Mali against ASR Bamako on October 14th.
Inkoom confirmed to Ghanasportspage.com about his three weeks break, saying, “Yes, I am taking a three weeks rest. At the moment, I am resting for three weeks.”
However, Hearts of Oak coach, Samuel Boadu disclosed after their game against Olympics that the right-back needs some rest to regain his groove.
“He [Samuel Inkoom] is ok but there is one or two things. I think we need to work more on him because since we started the pre-season he was on top.
“We have to make him rest a bit. He has reached the red zone because he was the first person to pick to that point and now we have seen that during his play he needs a lot of rest,” he added.
