Ghana Premier League 2020/21 champions, Accra Hearts of Oak are set to announce a new coach for the rest of the season after parting ways with Samuel Boadu.
Samuel Boadu’s contract was terminated on Tuesday morning after Hearts of Oak’s 1-1 draw with Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
Prosper Narteh Ogum and Erik Van der Meer from the Netherlands are said to be on the radar of the GPL giants.
The former Kotoko boss has met Togbe Afede, the Board Chairman of the club for talks as well as Erik Van der Meer; One of these coaches is likely to replace Samuel Boadu in the coming days.
Erik Van der Meer who has been linked to the technical director role of the club is currently in Ghana. He was at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday when the team drew 1-1 with Asante Kotoko.
Both coaches are currently without any club. Prosper Narteh Ogum, the 44-year-old tactician also left his role as the head coach of the reigning champions of the league after helping them to clinch their historic 25th title.
Hearts of Oak have had a poor start to the 2022/23 season, having gained just two points from the possible nine points in three games.
However, after the departure of Samuel Boadu, the club is likely to name one of the aforementioned coaches for the rest of the season and their CAF Confederations Cup campaign.
At the moment, Samuel Nii Noi has been appointed as the interim coach of the club until the appointment of a new head coach.
