Former Hearts of Oak defender, Dan Quaye has expressed anger following the departure of Coach Samuel Boadu.
The management of Accra Hearts of Oak led by Togbe Afede terminated the contract of the 36-year-old tactician after two seasons as the head coach of the club on Tuesday morning.
According to the ex-defender of the club, Togbe Afede who serves as the Board Chairman of Hearts of Oak was possessed by some of the board members to sack the young tactician.
He, however, warned the leaders of the club to watch out following the departure of the young tactician.
Speaking in an interview with Ghanasportspage.com, Dan Quaye said, “I can say that is a wrong decision because he is up and coming coach. We all saw what happened in his first season. Some of the management is behind it. You will be free when you say the truth. Some board members are aware of the incoming coach from the Netherlands. Am telling them that what they are doing will not help Hearts of Oak because Boadu is coming to coach for Ghana and Hearts of Oak.
“He has won five trophies for the club. How can you sack him after two draws and one defeat?”
“They should know that Hearts is not the only club that went for preseason. The other clubs also want to do something in the Ghana league. It is not a big deal to sack him with two draws and one defeat. Some leaders of the club are behind this. Those people should watch out. We don’t like the truth. We are the ones the management should listen but this is the time we have to step in for those leaders to stop what they are doing because I was very sad when I heard the news.
“How can this thing happen to an up-and-coming coach? I know that is not Togbe but he’s being possessed. Others are behind it. He took the coach as the future coach who can help the team. Samuel Boadu is having a lot of things. Is not small as a coach”, Dan Queye told the leading sports Portal, ghanasportspage.com.
“Togbe was forced by some leaders but the truth will be disclosed one day. They didn’t start it today. I was very sad. This shouldn’t happen to a coach who has just started Hus career,” he told Ghanasportspage.com.
