Ghana’s all-time top scorer, Asamoah Gyan, says he was misquoted about his conversation on Black Stars return.
Gyan, who last played for the country at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations game against Tunisia is reportedly eyeing a return into the Black Stars ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2022 to be held in Qatar following an interview with BBC.
However, the 36-year-old attacker has finally spoken about the news, claiming he was misquoted but he will be ready to serve the nation if there is any motivation again.
“I never said I will play for Black Stars, I was misquoted. But if the people need me and there’s any motivation why not I can risk and come,” Gyan told Angel Sports.
The experienced attacker’s last competitive season came during the 202/21 Ghana Premier League season where he featured five times for Legon Cities but he is still training to return.
