Barely a week ago after the Rainbows board ended Samuel Boadu’s management at the club, the board is now hoping to have a replacement as soon as possible with three local coaches, Annor Walker of Samartex FC, Prosper Narteh Ogum and Bismark Kobby are leading the race to join the Rainbows.
The trend now has linked former Asante Kotoko gaffer, Prosper Narteh Ogum as possible replacement for Samuel Boadu following the appointment of his ex-assistant coach, David Ocloo as deputy manager for the Phobians but Karela United head coach, Bismark Kobby Mensah has availed himself for the job.
He reacted to the rumor linking him to the club, claiming the Phobians haven’t approached him but he will be ready to join them should the Accra giants sought out things with his current club.
“Officially Accra Hearts of Oak has not written to me but I have seen and read many stories of Accra Hearts of Oak’s interest in me on social media. Every coach wants to coach either Accra Hearts of Oak or Asante Kotoko Sporting Club because we all want the big stage so if Accra Hearts of Oak and Karela United FC sought out things, I will join them.”
Kobby Mensah has brought Karela United to be one of the most fierce teams in the local league and also produced great talents including ex-Kotoko captain, Abdul Ganiu.
He successfully led Karela to the Premier League fourth place after the 2021/22 season for the first time in the club’s history. They rank fourth on the GPL log in the ongoing season with only one point behind the first-plaecd Berekum Chelsea.
