Black Stars leading top scorer, Asamoah Gyan has finally revealed the truth behind his relationship with Andre Dede Ayew during his time at the national team.
Asamoah Gyan shared the Black Stars dressing room with the current captain for thirteen until 2019.
There have been multiple reports of a breakdown in the relationship between Asamoah Gyan and Andre Ayew after the captaincy issues before the 2019 AFCON.
However, the former Sunderland and Legon Cities forward took stock of what appears to be a “controversial” topic after the AFCON in Egypt, admitting Ayew is not his friend.
“Andrew Ayew is my teammate, not my friend, we work together as teammates and make sure the job is done,” Asamoah Gyan told Kumasi-based Wuntumi FM/TV.
“He calls me sometime when there is a big boxing bout because he knows I understand the game but he is not my friend,” Gyan Said
“I have my friends and he also has his friends, since I left the Black Stars I didn’t hear from him,” he added
Asamoah Gyan, 37 has featured in 109 games for the Black Stars since 2003 with 51 goals, making him the leading top scorer of the national team.
