Reports gathered from the media space is that coach Otto Addo will in the coming days announce his team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
However, it has been reported that three local-based players will make Otto Addo’s squad for the mundial.
The team, as expected will feature largely players who ply their trade in foreign leagues. Familiar faces Andre Ayew, Kudus Mohammed, Thomas Partey and Jordan Ayew will be leading the squad alongside the newboys Tariq Lamptey, Inali Williams and others.
Ahead of the announcement, we take a look at three local players who could make the squad.
DANIEL AFRIYIE BARNIEH
The Phobian has already justified himself as one of the top local players to make Otto Addo’s squad.
Barnieh’s form at club level with Hearts of Oak in the last two Ghana Premier League seasons has been imperious and he will most likely make the squad.
He was the only local player among Otto Addo’s squad for their last two friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua.
DENNIS KORSAH
Korsah is another Hearts of Oak player who could make the squad for the tournament in Qatar. He has had a decent spell with Hearts of Oak.
He is the local player who has given the most playing time at the national level and he could be recalled to replace Baba Rahman who is likely to miss the tournament due to injury.
DANLAD IBRAHIM
Danlad Ibrahim has also demonstrated great performance for Asante Kotoko and the Black Galaxies.
His form has however improved greatly and could make the squad. He has had two clean sheets in their last four fixtures.
