Fans of the Rainbows are showing their displeasure following the team’s early exit from the campaign.
The Rainbows have been eliminated from the CAF Confederation’s Cup after losing 3-1 on aggregate to Malian side, AS Real Bamako.
Having suffered a 3-1 defeat in the first leg, Hearts of Oak turned their attention to the second leg.
They were hoping to overturn the scoreline but the 1-0 victory in the return fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium courtesy of Caleb Amankwa was not enough for them.
The game ended 0-0 in the first half but Hearts were hoping that in the second half Bamako’s defense would open up, but there wasn’t really a high volume of chances in transition, and Barnieh was relatively quiet in that sense. The visitors continued to work hard defensively.
It took them 89 minutes before breaking the deadlock through Caleb Amankwa’s goal.
The 3-1 defeat brings to an end of their Africa campaign and they will now turn their attention on the local league and the FA Cup.
