Fans of Accra Hearts of Oak are throwing questions and punches at Hon. Vincent Odotei Sowah over his reaction to their former gaffer, Samuel Boadu’s dismissal.
The Board Member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Hon. Vincent Odotei Sowah on Monday evening disclosed to Joy News that their former gaffer, Samuel Boadu was fired based on his performance and the results from their last 15 matches.
“I believe that the data and the league table don’t lie. Where you are in the league and the number of matches you’ve won shows how competitive you are”
“[At the moment] at least the latter part of last season and the beginning of this season, we have not been competitive. We have played 15 away matches, we lost 8, won 1 and drew 5.
“Yesterday [Sunday] was the first time we won in the 10 games and that is why it calls for the change of the club’s technical leadership,” he added.
However, the fans of the club have insisted that there is a secret and their board member is just beating around the bush.
Following the departure of the ex-Medeama coach, the former MP for La Dade Kotopon have come under pressure with two other board members, Alhaji Akambi and Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe.
Samuel Boadu put in a number of impressive displays as a coach, particularly in the 2020/21 season, winning the GPL title and the MTM FA Cup but he was dismissed two weeks ago after failing to win a game in their last three fixtures in the local league.
But it seems a number of Hearts of Oak fans on Facebook are not fully convinced and have shown displeasure with Odotei’s comment.
