Board Member of Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak, Hon. Vincent Sowah Odotei has revealed the biggest mistake of the club’s management.

The former MP for La Dede Kotopon has been hurt by recent reactions from the fans, the media and the Ghanaian football fraternity.

The management of the reining MTN FA Cup champions particularly, Vincent Odotei Sowah and Alhaji Akambi have been criticized for the club’s downfall in recent times.

However, the Ghanaian politician and the former MD of the club believes this is the right time to react to the current happenings.

Asked about how to close the gab between the suppprters and the management, he said, “Initially we didn’t want to talk that’s why I’ve started talking and laying the facts. If anybody has any contrary fact, not opinion… Not just opinion because you can have your own opinion but am speaking to the fact. Our biggest mistake is that we kept quiet. We thought what we were doing will speak for itself.

“If you have a club that has been the best club in the country for the past two seasons [six trophies and we won five] and if you have a club that is the leading club that is going to meet the infrastructure requirement to participate in Africa and even beyond, if you have a club that has governance that meet what is required by the FIFA and GFA, if you have a club whose finances are being properly and am sure you know… We are very closed to acquiring a land to start our own 25,000 seater stadium because a time that will be a requirement if you want to participate in Africa.

“You have to ask that Odotei and others were not communicating but what evidence do you have that the club is being destroyed by Odotei and Akambi. If someone calls to challenge, I won’t argue with that person but he should give me an evidence that we are destroying the club,” he told Gideon Okyere Anim Gatuso on Accra-based Original FM.

The Phobians have picked just one win in their last five fixtures. They secured their first victory of the season on Sunday following their 1-0 victory against AS Real Bamako in the CAF Confederations Cup after suffering a 3-0 defeat in the first leg of the competition’s second preliminary stage.

In the local league, Hearts of Oak rank 14th with just two points after three games.
