The Serbian tactician has confirmed that he likes playing offensive football, though the formation is likely to change several times during the game to respond to changes in the opponent’s shape.
It’s of course going to take some time for the Serbian to get his ideas across to his squad at Hearts of Oak. Togbe Afede and the club’s board have given Matić two years to lead the team.
Hearts of could do with a new lease of life and that’s what the board will hope Matić can implement.
The Serbian tactician who has been in Ghana for weeks also hinted at playing attractive football to win trophies.
The 46-year-old said he is ever ready for everything surrounding the job and is hoping to improve the club in all departments.
“Football is a simple game for smart people. I grew up in a big club and I know the expectations, how big,” Slavko Matic stated in an interview with the club’s media.
“I like to play offensive football that doesn’t mean we will be on the attack and nobody cares about the defence.
“We should have scored more goals but this team scored only three goals in the CAF Cup and league.
“Big clubs must play attractive football, it’s not only about winning, very important is the way and how you win the game.”
