Ghana coach, Otto Addo will announce his final 26-man squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup from the provisional squad which is yet to be released.

However, Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad and Hearts of Oak talisman Daniel Afriyie Barnieh are the only local players in the provisional squad according to report.

But a reliable source claims the Phobian attacker, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh could be the only local player in Ghana’s team and will be gunning for his first World Cup.

Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has already justified himself as one of the best players in local league after helping the Black Satellites to win the U-20 AFCON in 2021.

Having guided the Black Galaxies to book qualification for the next CHAN tournament, the youngster is also aiming to help the Black Meteors to book ticket for the 2023 TotalEnergies U-23 Championship in Morocco.

He fired the nation to victory after scoring twice against Mozambique on Sunday in the first leg encounter played at the Estadio do Zimpeto in Maputo.

The German-based trainer, Otto Addo has reportedly submitted the provisional squad to the Ghana Football Association and will be announced in the next hours.

Ghana edged Nigeria over in the final qualifying play-off to reach their fourth World Cup.

The Black Stars are in Group H at the World Cup, alongside former winners, Uruguay, Portugal and South Korea.

Their opening game will be against Portugal on November 24 at the Stadium 974.
