• Coach Slavko Matić admits Hearts of Oak must work hard after beating Bibiani Gold Stars in what was a disjointed contest at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Accra giants claimed a 2-1 win, their first victory in the ongoing Premier League under new manager, Slavko Matić. Thanks to Isaac Mensah and Gladson Awako’s second half goals that saw the Phobians claiming a comeback win.
Slavko was encouraged by his side’s display after the coming from behind to snatch the maximum points.
However, the Serbian tactician knows that his charges will need to up their game as the campaign progresses.
“Before this game they felt pressure of course and when you see this cheap goal it tells you that something started to be more difficult for us but after the goal we immediately changed formation, scored our goals and we tactically made good things. It was the most important thing and it is really good for my players.’
“We must continue to work hard to play how we want to play,” Slavko stated after the game.
Hearts of Oak now rank ninth on the league table with five points.
They will visit newbies, Kotoku Royals at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in their next fixture in the Ghana Premier League.
