Reigning champions of the BetPawa Premier League, Asante Kotoko play guest to King Faisal today, hoping to earn the three points to extend their unbeaten run in the league.
Kotoko will be without the services of Danlad Ibrahim, who went for national duty with the Black Meteors. The injury situations of Isaac Oppong and Georges Mfegue will see them on the sidelines for the derby.
In Seydou Zerbo’s selection, Cameroonian shotstopper, Moise Pouaty will be expected to replace the Black Meteors and the Black Galaxies goalkeeper in the XI, with Dickson Afoakwa starting as a replacement for Oppong.
Sheriff Mohammed, John Tedeku, Yussif Mubarik and Augustine Agyapong are expected to partner at the back of the guests.
However, Eric Serge Zeze is likely to get the nod through the middle once again alongside Richard Boadu, with Mukwala and Stephen Amankona also lining up in the final third of the field.
The last two games of these clubs recorded six goals with King Faisal scoring three and Asante Kotoko scoring three goals. Asante Kotoko have won twice in their four encounters with King Faisal picking only one victory and the other game ending in a draw.
King Faisal have yet to win a game in the 2022/23 betPawa Premier League and will be hoping to ditch their city rivals today. Asante Kotoko’s last Premier League game in Kumasi ended 2-1 against Nsoatreman FC.
