Steven Mukwala scored his first Kotoko goal since joining from URA SC as the Porcupines Warriors beat King Faisal 3-0 in the BetPawa Premier League week four fixture.
Mukwala, who arrived from the Ugandan league after the 2021/22 season took the lead for the reigning champions of the league just after ten minutes.
The Ugandan top striker connected perfectly to Afoakwa’s in-swinging cross to score his first goal in the Ghanaian top-flight.
Captain Richard Boadu Agadas also put Kotoko 2-0 up after Mukwala’s opener before the break.
Alhaji Grusah’s side were left off the hook from the start, failing to get consolation as Kotoko pressed them high on the field, making it difficult for them to get forward.
The guests continued to be the better side in the second half and extended their lead through ex-Legon Cities defender, Nicholas Mensah who scored to register his first goal to complete their 3-0 triumph in the regional derby on Monday.

This was a much-needed win for Kotoko, as they secured to move above their rivals, Hearts of Oak in the standings. The Porcupines took around 5 minutes to get into the game, but when they did, they were far the better side, and soon dominated proceedings.
Kotoko rank fifth with seven points and their next stop will be against Bechem United in an outstanding fixture of the league on Thursday at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
