Bibiani Gold Stars goalkeeper, Joseph Baah has apologised for his poor conduct during Saturday’s clash against Hearts of Oak.
Bibiani Gold suffered a 2-1 away defeat to the Rainbows in the BetPawa Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium.
They took an early lead in the ninth minute courtesy of Prince Owusu but the Phobians fought for a comeback win with Isaac Mensah and Awako getting the job done in the second half to record their first victory of the season.
However, the former Eleven Wonders goalkeeper was stretchered off during the second period following an assault on Cameronian import, Yassan Outching.
The red card affected the team according to their head coach, Michael Osei who vowed to frustrate the Rainbows prior to the game but the goalkeeper has made an emotional statement on Tuesday to try to erase the bad impression.
“I sincerely apologize for my conduct last Saturday in our week 4 league match with Accra Hearts of Oak. I will take responsibility of all the consequences due to my actions though this is unsual of me. Please my sincere apology goes to the family of Goldstars and my colleagues extending to the whole Accra Hearts of Oak team and all. Please all should have a forgiving heart for me – I am sorry and never to repeat such an act again,” the team posted on the official Facebook handle.
Gold Stars face struggling King Faisal on Saturday 3:00 as they look to get back to the winning ways.
