Kumasi Asante Kotoko manager, Seydou has ruled out comparison for Steven Mukwala and the team’s ex-forward, Frank Etouga Mbella.
The Ugandan striker opened his scoring account for the Porcupine Warriors in their 3-0 triumph over King Faisal on Monday.
Following his arrival in the Ghanaian league, he was compared to Etouga Mbella who left the club after his first season.
Mbella Etouga was outstanding for the Fabulous club last season in the Ghana Premier League, scoring 21 goals in 30 appearances, helping them to clinch the title for the first time in eight years.
It took Mukwala five games to score his debut goal for the reigning champions of the league but many believes he could get many goals as the Cameronian did.
However, on Seydou Zerbo’s part, he ruled out the comparison for the two strikers, claiming they are different players all together.
“You can’t compare Mukwala and Mbella. They are different players all together. Mukwala is Mukwala and Mbella is Mbella. Being the head coach am okay even though he has not had the scoring boot but being the head coach am okay. Today he had a goal and gradually he will get to the top or the performance that we saw from Mbella,” the Porcupine Warriors head coach stated after their 3-0 over struggling King Faisal.
Steven Mukwala ended the 2020/21 Uganda Premier League season as the top scorer for Uganda Rivers Authority (URA FC) after scoring 14 goals in 24 matches.
He also scored 13 goals in the just ended 2021/22 Ugandan Premier League for URA FC, finishing as the club’s second top scorer of the season.
