Bechem United gaffer, Kassim Mingle has reacted to Steven Mukwala’s performance after scoring against King Faisal on Monday.
The Ugandan international who was tipped to emulate Mbella’s performance, struck his first goal for Asante Kotoko in their 3-0 victory over Alhaji Grusah’s side.
Mukwala found himself on the end of a lofted ball, anticipating Dickson Afoakwa’s cross. With limited space, he somehow managed to strike past King Faisal goalkeeper to register his first goal in the Ghana Premier League.
His performance against the the Kumasi-based club makes it clear that he has found his scoring boots but the head coach of the Hunters is keen on stopping the striker in today’s duel.
Mukwala expressed the desire to bag in more goals for the Porcupine Warriors after the game against King Faisal.
Asked if he was under pressure to score, he said, “Not really, that is not pressure, but what I believe is I have to adapt to the environment of Ghana because am a new player, so have to fit in the environment and basically get coordination with my fellow players. There’s being tag of war, but I believe I will score more goals.”
However, discussing the importance of the striker, Bechem United boss said, “He played and scored. He should come and face us. It is football. There’s no need to be afraid. He is a senior and we also have senior players. He is a striker and we also have a striker. It is not going to be an easy game but very competitive. I don’t want to talk much. They better side that day with the luck being on his side will carry the day,” Kassim Mingle stated during an interview with Ghanasportspage.com.
The Hunters will enter the game with one win, two defeats from their first three fixtures but they optimistic of beating the Porcupines who makes the trip with two win and one draw.
The game will kick off at exactly 3:00pm at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
