Bechem United ended Kotoko’s three games unbeaten run in the BetPawa Premier League with a 2-0 win at home.
Kofi Agbesimah and Emmanuel Avornyo scored the two goals to inspire the Hunters into victory over the title holders.
Kotoko were hoping to secure a positive outcome from their trip but the nut was hard for them to crack.
The two sides were separated when Agbesimah opened the scoring in the 23rd minute from the spot kick. In the second period, a great performance from the Hunters saw Emmanuel Avornyo sealing their second victory in the 62nd minute.
Prior to the game, Seydou Zerbo made two changes to the team that secured their second win against King King Faisal on Monday and despite four substitutions, the Hunters still had to overcome a Kotoko team containing the likes of Ugandan top striker, Steven Mukwala, Richard Boadu and Dickson Afoakwa.
Asante Kotoko were frustrated and their hopes of the getting consolation suffered setback when Amankona was sent off in the 90th minute.
The Hunters cut the gap on the league table in a tactical triumph for their manager Kassim Mingle who vowed to stop the Warriors prior to the game.
The win leaves them at the 9th position with 6 points after four games.
