Ghanaian duo, Denis Odoi and Kamal Sowah will play against Benfica with Club Brugge in the last 16 round of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the history of the club.
The Belgian side were drawn to play the Reds on Monday morning following the UCL round of 16 draw held in Nyon.
Both players played key roles to help their club to finish as the runners-up in Group B of the competition.
Kamal Sowah bagged two goals against FC Porto and Atletico to inspire his side to great wins.
They were tipped as underdogs but they conquered with courage and excellent football.
Fuelled by large dollops of bravery, maturity and focus, Club Brugge belied all expectations to reach the knockouts for the first time.
They set their stall out with a stunning 4-0 victory at Porto on Matchday 2, promptly proving it was no fluke by finishing second behind RB Leipzig with Atletico Madrid finishing third.
Odoi and Kamal have been included in Ghana’s 55-man preliminary squad ahead of the World Cup.
They will play host to the Portuguese side in the first league on February 14, 2023 before the return leg in Portugal on March 7, 2023.
